City Place to support Cheshire and Warrington LEP at world’s biggest property showcase

With the second highest income per head in England outside London, Cheshire and Warrington is taking its wealth of investment opportunities to the world’s premier investment conference next month, with the support of City Place Chester and Muse Developments.

Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), together with its local authority partners, Cheshire West and Chester, Cheshire East and Warrington councils, is leading a delegation of private sector partners to promote the area’s economic success, along with its major investment opportunities including:

  •  The Cheshire Science Corridor and the recently launched Enterprise Zone, an investment opportunity covering 100 hectares with the potential to attract up to 20,000 jobs and 500 businesses.
  • The Northern Gateway Development Zone, an investment area capitalising on the Government’s once-in-a-lifetime investment in HS2, spanning Cheshire and the North of Staffordshire including Stoke-on-Trent, Crewe and the A500 corridor. It will deliver more than 100,000 new homes and 120,000 new jobs by 2040.
  •  Chester’s £100 Central Business Quarter, a commercial regeneration scheme spanning 7.5 acres next to Chester Rail Station. It will see 500,000 sq ft of land transformed into a new business destination creating 3,500 jobs bringing more than £96m to Chester’s economy by 2028.
  • Opportunities in Chester, Crewe, Warrington and other areas, along with other aspects of the region such as its unrivalled quality of places and its position as home to the top three places to live in Property Week’s Hot Housing Survey 2016.

“MIPIM is the largest gathering of the property sector in the world, and so offers an ideal opportunity to showcase the very best of what our area has to offer, and position our economy alongside other major players in the country.”

Mike Horner, regional director at Muse Developments, said: “We are very proud to join the Cheshire and Warrington LEP, to showcase One City Place and the wider City Place scheme at MIPIM 2017.
